Sweet serenity drifted over me
As we sat under the knowledge tree
We spoke no words,there was no speech
A pure holy union formed
Between you and me
The solid melted away
As we were swallowed by the suns rays
We were tied together
And still free.
The moon the stars ,skies,sun and sea
It united you and me.
As we lay under a blanket of green
We could hear the whispers of the trees
Everything felt like it was meant to be
Sweet serenity,you and me.
We come back to the life of the city
And we stood stronger than concrete
Our dreams a reality.
But we weren’t strong
We couldn’t see,we grew blind as we slowly felt the heat.
Dreams began to disappear
Our strength began to falter
We could hear Gaia’s laughter
She sent her son away from her daughter.
“Love can handle anything ‘,she said
“Lets see if theyre strong enough to love each other till theyre dead.”
She was right
We were wrong .
We stand here today
As reality washes our love away.
And through it all I stayed true,
To what I believed was the truth
Knowing I needed to be with you.
Somewhere along the way you lost sight
You forgot how to love me back
You forgot to fight
You forgot how to love life
So I said goodbye.
I didn’t think that you wouldn’t fight
All those promises disappeared to dust
Turns out I was never enough for us.
You began to hate everything I was
Tried to change me into something I never was
So with all the strength I had left I turned my back on you
And with Gaia I am trying to make it through
The cosmos reminded me of what I lost
Slowly the haze loses its frost.
Clarity came back.
Im still standing through it all
I realised I was the only one who could break down that wall
You made me hate who I was.
She brought it back.
She brought me back to life.
And through it all I learned a lot.
You tend to learn so much from what is lost
